The Chamber’s 125th Annual Gala “The Bridge” held January 26 honoring community leaders was attended by over 750 people. The theme for the Gala was “The Bridge” because the Chamber was formed 125 years ago by a group of business and community leaders much like yourselves who raised private funds to build a bridge across the Missouri River to ensure the growth and prosperity of Jefferson City. The Chamber was also an active supporter of the both new bridge in 1954 and the second bridge in 1991.
Mayor Carrie Tergin graciously donated her time and talents to paint a special 125th Anniversary Artwork, titled, “The Bridge” that was purchased by Tom and Sharon Naught in a live auction by Bill and Logan Gratz at the Gala. A limited number prints signed by Mayor Tergin are also available for $125 by contacting the Chamber office at 634-3616,
Outgoing Chairman, Janet Weckenborg, was honored for her leadership and recognized for her role in the success of the Chamber over the past year. 2018 Chamber Chair, Bill Plank, Naught Naught Insurance, outlined his goals for the Chamber in the upcoming year to continue to forge partnerships resulting in economic growth and workforce development.
The festivities continued with recognition of retiring officers, board members and other Chamber volunteers for their service to the Chamber and the community.
