On May 15th the General Assembly voted 145-3 in favor of transferring 116 acres from the state to the Heartland Port Authority. The land is intended to be used for a River Port to transport commercial goods by barge up and down the Missouri River.

The Missouri House of Representatives voted 145-3 on Thursday to transfer 116 acres of state-owned land just east of the Ike Skelton Training Facility to the Heartland Port Authority for a Missouri River port in Jefferson City, sending the bill to Gov. Mike Parson for his signature.

Three new Board members have joined the Heartland Port Authority. Representing Jefferson City is Ann Pardalos. Ann is currently the Manager of the Missouri International Trade & Investment Office for the Missouri Department of Economic Development.

The proposed Heartland Port Authority of Central Missouri took a giant step forward on Wednesday, September 6th as the MoDOT Commission formally approved our application to create a formal public port authority for Cole and Callaway counties.
