Program of Excellence Nominees Announced
Published: Monday, November 18, 2019
The Partners in Education (PIE) Committee is pleased to announce the nominations for the Program of Excellence Award. The Businesses and their School partners are C&S Business Services, Inc. and the Mid-MO Adult Learning Center and Lawson Elementary; First United Methodist Church and Thorpe Gordon Elementary; Hy-Vee Foods and Lawson Elementary; Mid America Bank and Callaway Hills Elementary; Missouri River Regional Library and Belair Elementary.
Each year the Partners in Education Committee asks the Chamber’s business and school partners to share the highlights of their working relationships. Based on the applications, the Committee selects a partnership that displays creativity, dedication and commitment to the students and each other. The nominations are judged on how the program incorporates at least these criteria:
- Does the program enhance students’ academic achievements and/or character traits?
- Is the program innovative, or does it take an existing program to new levels?
- Does the program have the potential for expansion or transferability to other schools?
- Does the program impact and involve parents as well as students and school staff?
Congratulations to the Program of Excellence Award nominees. And thank you to all our PIE partners for truly making a difference in our schools and community.
This award will be presented to the selected partnership in December and recognized at the Chamber’s Annual Gala in January.
