A new logo for the Partners in Education program was unveiled at the P.I.E. Kick-off Luncheon,
October 2. The P.I.E. Committee worked through several design changes to ensure the logo conveys the program’s mission. The purpose of the P.I.E. program is to support the collaboration between businesses and schools to provide programs that enhance student learning and strengthen our local workforce.
The program benefits students, businesses and the community. STUDENTS benefit from enhanced achievements, additional adult role models, career exploration opportunities and curriculum enhancement. BUSINESSES benefit from an increased community awareness of business goals and issues, and intrinsic rewards derived from sharing time and talent. COMMUNITIES benefit by having engaged citizens, involved businesses and stronger schools.
The Partners in Education Committee works to recruit new business partners, and strengthen existing partnerships. Committee members are: Chair Lori Massman, Scholastic Inc.; Ryan Burns, Jefferson City School District; Jeff DeLong, Custom Screen Printing & Embroidery; Karen Enloe, Jefferson City School District Foundation; Debbie Hamler, Special Learning Center; Cindy Reed, SERVPRO of Jefferson City; Melissa Willett, Bartlett & West, Inc.
