2019 Exceptional Employee of the Year - Stephanie Lehman, Community Relations Coordinator, C&S Business Services, Inc.
C&S is in the people business, and they lucked out with Stephanie Lehman. You would have thought she wrote the book on Community Relations. More appropriately, her boss wrote it into her title, “Community Relations Coordinator.” With over 20-years of experience in marketing and community relations, Stephanie is trusted with a wide range of tasks. She designs all materials to market C&S digitally and in print (even having one of her articles featured in Staffing Success, a well-known national publication in the staffing business). She also manages the social media and web presence for the company making sure to give the best impression of the company wherever it is mentioned.
Stephanie is best known for her outreach in the community, as she is actively involved in a host of community organizations, charities, and events. Stephanie says “I really enjoy talking and interacting with people. Whether it is interviewing and writing a story on a C&S client or employee, organizing a charity event, creating a themed booth for a job fair or calling on clients.”
Interacting with Stephanie, you would never think she has a bad day. However, when she is faced with a difficult situation, Stephanie says “I try to use patience, compassion, listening & defusing skills and (whenever appropriate) humor.”
When asked about a rewarding experience at her job, Stephanie most enjoys what she calls a “warm fuzzy” feeling after an employee comes to C&S looking for work during hard times and they are able to get them back on their feet again. She has also enjoyed being able to be a “big sister” for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jefferson City. She says “I have witnessed so many kids in our community that have benefitted just by having the positive influence of a mentor. Knowing I played some small part in that is more rewarding than I could ever try to describe!”
