Lunch & Learn Not Just for Newcomers
Published: Tuesday, October 9, 2018 8:00 am

Membership in an organization can become stale if you are not actively involved on a monthly or even weekly basis. The New Member Lunch & Learn program encourages old and new chamber members, those new to their company or new to their position, to attend.

The presentation outlines the timeline of an active chamber member and gives attendees the information they need to become actively involved themselves. Some chamber members feel an active membership means attending every networking event and chamber-sponsored event or even guest-speaking at a program. Other chamber members would rather utilize their membership by promoting their business through digital and print channels or even sponsor events. Chamber programs and events are hosted on different days of the week and different times of day (morning, lunch and evening) to better accommodate the busy schedules of its members.

Participants of the Lunch & Learn receive a calendar of events, a list of programs, committees, and marketing & sponsorship opportunities in order to make involvement at arms-length. They are encouraged to get “plugged in” before they leave the building. Participants also learn more about what the chamber does, where the dues dollars go and what services it provides for its membership.

New member engagement is vital to the continuation of a successful membership for years to come. We encourage seasoned as well as new chamber members to attend this quarterly event. The next Lunch & Learn is scheduled for October 10th at 12 noon at the Chamber.
