Cole County Communities 39th Annual Prayer Breakfast
Published: Friday, December 7, 2018
Residents of Cole and nearby counties attended the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce’s Cole County Communities’ 39th Annual Prayer Breakfast the day before the Thanksgiving holiday. Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe sponsored the event at Missouri Farm Bureau, and the chamber’s Cole County Communities Committee greeted and served breakfast for over 250 attendees.
Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe has been a long-time sponsor of the event. “The Prayer Breakfast is a tradition that marks the beginning of the holiday season,” said Lieutenant Governor Kehoe. “It’s wonderful to celebrate the season and to reflect on our blessings.”
Prayer Breakfast attendees enjoyed an inspirational message from Lieutenant Governor Kehoe, along with inspiring musical performances by members of the Calvary Lutheran High School Select Choir. The 2018 Cole County Farm Family of the year, the Schmutzler family, was also recognized at the event. Rod Smith, KRCG & Naught-Naught Agency, served as the emcee.
The Prayer Breakfast is organized by the chamber’s Cole County Communities Committee. Chamber membership is not necessary to participate in the Committee’s work. Individuals who are interested in the committee’s activities are encouraged to call Shaun Sappenfield at 573-638-3586.
