Do you have a creative idea for a business that you’ve always wanted to try?  Have you ever wanted to own your own business, but didn’t have the resources or funding to get started?

If you answered yes to either of these questions, the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce Small Business Plan Competition may be the perfect opportunity for you to make your business dream a reality.  Individuals are invited to enter written business plans into this first-time competition for a chance to win $5,000 in start-up funds and an additional $5,000 or more in support services, like accounting or marketing, needed to launch a new company.

Business plan entries must be submitted to the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce office, 213 Adams St., by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011.  A committee of local judges, which includes professionals in all aspects of business operations, will select the top entry.  The winner of the Small Business Plan Competition will be announced at the Chamber’s Micro-Business Expo in March 2011.
