You may submit articles anytime as we will post them when they are received. This will allow for more timely news rather than quarterly as the previous version. 1988 - 2008
Leadership Jefferson City Celebrated 20 Years!
Leadership Jefferson City started in 1988 as a program to help identify and motivate emerging leaders and to develop their potential for community leadership roles.
Here are some historical tidbits about Leadership Jefferson City through the years....
• 1988 - The program was 7 half day sessions
• 1990 - The program evolved into full day sessions and the Government session was divided into a day of local and a day of state government
• 1997 - Diversity session added
• 1999- 3 new sessions including Economics and Agriculture, Volunteerism, and Team Building
• 2000 - Leadership Jefferson City Alumni committee formed
• 2001 - Opening session and Team Building were combined
• 2002 - Technology session added
• 2005 - Marked the year the Alumni grew to over 520 members
• 2007 - Leadership Basic session added
• 2008 - Leadership Jefferson City celebrated 20th anniversary
• 2009 - Leadership Jefferson City Alumni network through Facebook
• Today...There continues to be a waiting list for the program

In April 2008 the Chamber celebrated 20 years of the Leadership Jefferson City program which consist of 630 alumni. The event was hel at the Doubletree Hotel in Jefferson City. The Alumni enjoyed networking, and catching up with their classmates as well as getting to know other Leadership Jefferson City graduates. There were over 100 in attendance. |
