"I originally joined Young Professionals to make friends (I had recently moved back home to Jefferson City) but ended up gaining so much more including meeting someone who was integral in helping me get my dream job! I’ve also really appreciated all of the professional development skills the monthly luncheon speakers have helped me fine tune from how to network to conflict resolution and just about everything in between. I’m so grateful for the connections I’ve made in YP from expanding my personal social and professional networks to being introduced to the wide array of things happening in our community! Thank you YP!"
-Missy Dunn - Huber & Associates, Marketing Manager
"I joined YP once I moved back to Jefferson City 3 years ago. Some of my High School friends were still living in Jefferson City but I wanted to meet more people and YP opened the doors for me. The first year I was part of YP, I volunteered to do anything YP wanted help with just to meet more people. I kept saying “YES” to everything and that lead to more friendships and trust within the YP board which then lead to becoming the Professional Development Chair for 2017-2018. All of my friendships and connections I have made through YP has helped me grow personally and professionally. YP is now a big part of my life and I am happy to be part of the organization."

"Joining YP was a great decision for me as a local business owner and a young professional in the area. I jumped in and have truly enjoyed getting to know other members. I try to utilize my membership as much as possible and it serves me well. It’s well worth the investment in your career. "

"In May 2016, I switched from being a social worker to an insurance agent. I had no professional experience in networking, referrals, or growing a business. My boss at the time encouraged me to join the Chamber of Commerce and become an active member. I had no clue what a Chamber was or how it could help me, but I wanted to be successful so I took his advice. I paid for my membership to the Chamber and actively attend Friday Coffees, Chamber Connections, Membership Lunches, and other Chamber events. However, my favorite part has been Young Professionals. My first event for YP was the Golf Tournament and volunteering at the YP hole. At this and many other YP events, I was been given access to business owners, developed professional relationships, and have increased sales at no cost to me. By April 2017, I had the honor of being the event sponsor for the Show-Me Wine Competition that raised $3,500 for the Rape and Abuse Crisis Services. Through the opportunities given to me by YP, I have developed into a true Young Professional."

"For such a small investment, YP can give so much back if you show up and take advantage of all it has to offer! Young Professionals isn't about having your name on a piece of paper, it is about the relationships you create and working together to #growjcmo. I highly recommend investing in yourself and getting involved in the long list of activities and professional development they have to offer; Young Professionals has helped to grow both me as an individual and also our business through the skills and connections I've created. I wish I had joined YP as soon as I moved to Jefferson City!"
-Kim Slaughter - Riverbend Dentistry, Manager/Owner
"YP has allowed me to become involved in Jefferson City, grow professionally, and has provided numerous leadership opportunities through committees and board positions. YP is an organization dedicated to ensuring and investing in the growth of Jefferson City through engaging young professionals recently entering the workforce and seeking to give back to the community. I am a firm believer in if you grow and develop yourself, you will grow and develop your business, which will grow and develop Jefferson City. YP is the organization that can aid the personal growth of a young business person. I have also had the privilege to work alongside some of the brightest and most creative minds, who have taught me a great deal about what it takes to succeed in the business world. A big shout out to Jacob Robinett for all the texts and invites to come to YP lunches back in 2015 when I left the Marines and was searching to get involved in a community I knew little to nothing about, one of the best decisions was saying yes to attend a lunch meeting."
