Jefferson City- On July 31st, 2018, the Leadership Jefferson City Class presented three proceed checks to local organizations; Rape & Abuse Crisis Service, Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption Association and Big Brothers Big Sisters amounting in almost $25,000 dollars.
These proceeds were raised at the Battle of the Brews craft beer event at the Jefferson City Jaycees Fairgrounds on June 8th. Each year, the Leadership Class is encouraged to facilitate a project to benefit the community. For the past several years, each class has chosen to continue the tradition of Battle of the Brews- A fundraising brew-tasting event that is open to the general public.
Leadership Jefferson City is a program hosted by the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce designed to identify and motivate emerging leaders and to develop their potential for community leadership roles by exposing them to the opportunities, realities and challenges of the community. The topics of the eleven sessions included a kick off retreat, arts & recreation, diversity, education, health & wellness, industry, local government, state government, media, technology and volunteerism.
